Henan Museum Conducts Fire Safety Training

The water-based fire extinguisher is used by the Custodian for field operation

The museum is safe, no small matter. In an effort to improve the safety awareness of curators in the Henan Museum and to develop their ability to respond to emergencies, on the afternoon of November 26, the Henan Museum invited Li Zhengyu, director of security, and Wang Guanqi, director of fire management, to conduct fire safety training for all the keepers in the cultural relics warehouse.

In this training, director Li Zhengyu first explained the modern museum's safety management system, specific response measures, and fire safety knowledge, including the early prevention of fire accidents and how to put out the initial fire, as well as basic knowledge such as emergency evacuation and self-rescue. Later, Wang Guanqi gave a lecture and demonstration on the use of the fire extinguishing system in the Heptafluoropropane, and gave on-site instruction on the use of water-based fire extinguishers.

Through this fire and safety training exercise, the Henan Museum has gained a new understanding of all aspects of the museum's safety work, the experience of preventing and dealing with fire accidents and the ability of handling unexpected safety incidents have been further promoted, which is a solid foundation for ensuring the safety of cultural relics in the museum collection.
