About Us

Tianjin Agarwood Museum is the first agarwood museum in China. It is located at No. 37 Changde Road, Heping District, Tianjin, which constitutes part of the culturally and historically significant Wudadao Sightseeing Street. It features a great variety of argawood incenses, works of art made from agarwood, incense burners throughout Chinese history, and other artifacts related to the Chinese culture of incense.  

The museum aims to research on, disseminate and promote the traditional culture of incense in China. Apart from its regular collection, it also hosts on occasion such activities as special exhibitions of agarwood incenses and lectures on the culture of incense.

Focusing on displaying and disseminating the Chinese culture of incense, Tianjin Agarwood Museum not only has a team of well qualified experts and a rich collection of valuable artifacts, but also maintains significant contact with related organizations and experts in China and overseas. At the same time, through such means as display of works of art made from argawood, education, academic exchange and evaluation, it studies the impact of the culture of incense in all aspects, promotes understanding of the culture of incense, and thus contributes to restoration and reservation of the profound cultural tradition.
