About Us

Yangquan Museum is a local comprehensive museum, affiliated to the Yangquan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, established in 2009. 

The museum is located in the South Building of the Municipal Cultural Center at the intersection of Quanzhong Road and North Avenue in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province. There are 1475 registered cultural relics/sets in the museum, and the actual number is 28861, and the large number of cultural relics categories include: 388 porcelain, 236 pottery, 100 calligraphy and painting, 104 bronzes, nearly 27000 coins, and 53 statues. From the perspective of level, there are 12 first-class cultural relics, 43 second-class cultural relics, and 241 third-class cultural relics, with a total of 296 precious cultural relics.

"Guanshan Smoke and Clouds" is divided into four units: prehistoric pioneering, Eastern Zhou past, Han customs and customs, and Song Qi humanities, focusing on the achievements and glory in the ancient history of Yangquan, such as the pioneer pioneering, qiu you ancient country, the orphan of Zhao, the famous state of literature, and the hometown of jinshi. The "Hundred Years of Great Changes" is divided into two units, Baojin Fengyun and Red Fertile Land, which focus on the glorious history of Yangquan in modern times in saving the country in industry and resisting the enemy and resisting humiliation by telling important historical events such as the Zhengtai Railway, the Mine Protection Movement, the establishment of the Red Twenty-fourth Army, and the creation of the first city by the COMMUNISTs. In addition, through four different thematic exhibitions of "Miaoxiang Fanrong", "A Glance at the Millennium", "Northern Sand Capital" and "Coal Story", the yangquan Buddhist statue, porcelain art, sandware, Pingding purple sand, coal culture and other characteristic local cultures were displayed in front of the audience.

In December 2020, Yangquan Museum was selected into the fourth batch of national second-class museums.
