      The Qinghai Provincial Museum is the first large comprehensive museum with modern functions in Qinghai, covering an area of 17,000 square meters and Gross leasable area 20,800 square meters. The overall building adopts the traditional axis symmetry technique, has the strong national, the local characteristic, exudes the strong time breath, has added a beautiful scenery line for the Xining ancient city. The Qinghai Provincial Museum was established in 1957, and opened to the public in September 1986. At present, there are 10 main and side exhibition halls with an area of 9146 square meters. Cultural Relics Warehouse 7, an area of 2,593 square meters. The museum has a collection of 14,932 pieces/sets of cultural relics, of which 2,193 are precious. The cultural relics in the collection of the museum are characterized by painted pottery and ethnic and religious relics of the new period, involving religion, folk custom, politics, economy, military affairs, production and life, etc. . It is responsible for exhibition, protection of Cultural Relics, scientific research, personnel training, social service functions, foreign education and communication and other work. At the beginning of the construction of the museum, all the museum people have set up a good image, give full play to social functions as the core, make use of their own advantages, have launched a series of exhibitions adapted to current affairs, the public welcome, has been widely praised by all sectors of society. Open to the public free of charge from 1 April 2008. In January 2017, it was named a national first-class museum by the Chinese Museum Association. It has been awarded the titles of "provincial base for Patriotic Education" , "base for moral education in schools" , "national advanced collective for the safety and protection of cultural relics" , "national advanced collective for Tourism" , "national excellent base for Patriotic Education" and "national 4A class tourist attraction" by relevant departments, it has been rated as a civilized unit at city level for many times. In January 2017 by the Chinese Museum Association as a National First-class Museum and other titles.
